An Odyssey for The Odyssey.
Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” was such a great cinematic experience.
The whole experience i have had with this film has been nothing short of a journey and i have officially seen it 4 times now. Sporting a greek odysseus helmet walking through the thick wildfire smoke pouring in from canada i strolled into my first showing, a regular 5perf 70mm a solo run. Bought the Trojan Horse pocorn bucket and my trusty steed joined me for my remaining journey.
I Enjoyed the film tremendously. Then came back 2 days later to see it in Dolby Cinema on the same morning I went to the “Her Private Hell” Chicago Premiere.
I was unable to get opening day imax tickets since the IMAX 70mm ticket war was a bloodbath so I waited 2 more weeks after my opening day 5/70 screening. Then saw it again in the almighty IMAX 15perf /70mm and once more at the same theater a few days ago. Each time I took different family members.
A view from my seat on my first time in an IMAX 70mm theater. It’s hard to capture the sheer scale and vastness of a true 1.43:1 aspect ratio experience. We traveled out to the brand newly restored 15/70 loacation in Woodridge IL for my third and fourth times seeing the film.
