Last weekend Chicago was lucky enough to host dubstep royalty himself for “2 nights at Navy Pier” bringing out some of the best new talent the scene has to offer. An absolutely electric weekend from start to finish.
The 5 hour marathon Saturday set was my favorite! It really showed his range as an artist and a dj. The LD and rigging team was on another level. It truly shows what you can achieve without visuals and just good lighting design for a warehouse format. Plus the overhead moving sections were REALLY cool!! Navy Pier festival hall almost always has lots of reverb in that room so the overhead sections helped with both bass control and sick lighting.

I cannot believe it’s been 12 years since the last time I saw Skrillex perform at navy pier. Wow does time fly! it felt so good to be back while simultaneously it felt like being a teen again.
its crazy to think that Kaytranada was the opener. look at how far he has come too. i also decided to include some photo video comparing it to 2014. same artist same venue.

Overall it felt so good to see Skrillex whip out basically the entire catalog and produce an incomprehensible amount of condensed human joy for everyone in attendance. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces as we danced and sweat all night together. It truly was a legendary experience for us all.
